DESCRIPTION:Divorce settlements in New Jersey have complex tax consequences that can significantly impact both short-term and long-term outcomes for clients. This CLE program brings together legal and forensic accounting perspectives to help family law attorneys better navigate these issues. \nParticipants will gain a practical understanding of the tax implications of property transfers\, buy-outs\, brokerage assets\, and business ownership in divorce\, as well as the unique challenges of structuring spousal and child support under New Jersey law. The program will highlight common pitfalls and best practices for drafting settlement agreements related to tax consequences. \nThis in-person CLE is approved for 1.0 NJ CLE credit. \nLight refreshments will be served.
