Effective May 1, 2024, (a)  the Supreme Court’s March 10, 2020, order relaxing live Continuing Legal Education compliance, is hereby rescinded effective immediately; (b) any credits obtained between March 10, 2020, and the effective date of this order shall be considered live-credit hours; and (c) the live requirement is reinstated such that, going forward, courses must comply with the provisions of amended Reg. 103:1(n) to be considered “live” instruction.

As of March 1, 2023, all mandatory Civil Arbitrations in the Bergen County Vicinage will be conducted In-Person at the Bergen County Courthouse. The provisions of Rule 4:21A-4 as to appearance at Arbitration will be in effect.
Please alert colleagues as to this change and requirement.

As of August 2, 2021, the Bergen County Surrogate’s Court will reopen to the public. Appointments for probating and other court work as well as record researching are mandatory. Individuals without appointments will be required to leave the premises.

State Court Locations Fully Open as of August 2, 2021

All state court locations will reopen to the public as of August 2, 2021, thus concluding the temporary restrictions on public access to the courthouses implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of that August 2, 2021 date, individuals may be present in court locations regardless of their involvement in a scheduled court proceeding and without the need for an appointment.
